Reminders

The beginning of mindfulness poster series I’d like to start designing - as a gentle reminder to be present in our everyday.

Gone Floatin',2018

This is my twist on the classic shopkeeper signage, “Gone Fishin’”, also inspired by my experience inside a sensory deprivation tank.

The circular graphic element is representative of self but is also a visual nod to a fishing float/bobber. As your eyes trail down the ripples of water, the irregular gradient pattern acknowledges the uneasy journey of achieving relaxation. Eventually, one gets into the groove of sinking into self, deeper than its surroundings.

Gone Floatin' aims to remind you to take a breather, let go and reset.

From within, 2017

This was my submission for a Peace Contest organized by Sid Lee. I was inspired by recognizing that peace and freedom begins from within. We can't control external forces but we can choose how to respond / behave to what is going on around us. Ideally, we should aim to be unconditional love; love reverberating throughout time and space. I play on this idea of the inner self and how it can influence the environment we live in. When we achieve internal stillness, we can create unity with humanity when we are the change we want to see.

I've redefined the wifi symbol, making it symbolic of an outward reach. The water fading out from dark ripples to this serene brightness is representative of enlightenment.
